Why are Women Vulnerable to Yeast Infection

In a population, there are a significant number of women who are infected by yeast infection or Candidiasis. The majority of these women is healthy and has few or no signs of the infection. Women are prone to this infection due to numerous risk factors and some of these factors will be discussed below.

The yeast or fungi responsible for the infection need a wet dark area to attack and multiply. Since a woman's body has lots of contours and skin folds, it is vulnerable to Candidiasis if not well taken care of. For instance, if a woman douches her vagina too often and too rough, the fungi that live in her vagina will multiply rapidly and cause the infection.

As the influence of media grows, many women are convinced that having sex at an early age is natural. Unlike most men, women like to wear tight skinny jeans and G-strings. Unfortunately, this produces more moisture in the vagina which in turn, the vulnerability of women to Candidiasis is increase. The recommended underwear to prevent the development of yeast infection is cotton underwear.

Finally, using feminine deodorant to cleanse your vagina will also increase your chances of having Candidiasis. The explanation is these deodorants most often have high acidity that kills both the good and the bad bacteria.
